What are Continuing Education Credits?
The Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification issues certifications to individuals after completing an IICRC-approved course and passing the corresponding exam.
Certified Technicians, Inspectors and Master Designations must earn Continuing Education Credits to keep their certifications active. This allows them to stay up to date on the latest information!
One Continuing Education Credit or CEC is equal to one hour of learning. To earn your 14 CECs, you will need to take 14 hours of education. You can earn credit by attending another IICRC course, attending an approved event, or completing online, self-paced courses.
How many CECs do I need?
- Certified Technicians must earn 14 credits every 4 years.
- Master Designations must earn 14 credits every 2 years.
- Inspectors must earn 14 credits every 2 years.
How do I earn CECs?
You can earn and complete them in our self-paced courses! We have options from 1 to 14 credits and you can complete them online. These self-paced classes allow you to log in and complete them on your own schedule.

How much is the IICRC renewal fee?
This fee depends on how many certifications you have.
- 1-2 Certifications: $46/year
- 3-4 Certifications: $58/year
- 5+ Certifications: $70/year
- AMRT Certification: $72/year
- If you have Master Status: An additional $12/year
- Certified Firm: $199/year
When do I pay the renewal fee?
The IICRC will send you an invoice when it is time to pay your renewal fee. You can also log in to your IICRC.org account and check your invoices.
If your business is a Certified Firm, you will also need to pay the yearly renewal fee.
You can log in to your IICRC.org account to pay your renewal invoice each year. If you are logging into your account for the first time, you can email renewals@IICRCnet.org and they will send you login credentials!
You can also email them for bulk renewal payments for your teams certifications.
