OSHA 10-Hour General Industry

What You’ll Learn 

The OSHA 10-hour General Industry course is designed for the general industry worker. This includes (but not limited) to warehousing and manufacturing workers, healthcare employees, automotive, distribution, or agriculture. 

This course is NOT intended for construction workers. The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course is designed specifically for construction workers. 

This training does not meet California Cal/OSHA requirements. Learning objectives include:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • Selecting and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Slip, trip and fall hazards
  • Material Handling
  • Ladder safety
  • Machine guard safety
  • Flammable and combustible liquids and gasses

  • Hazard Communication
  • Chemical hazards
  • Role of employers and workers in creating a culture of safety
  • Employer and workers’ rights and responsibilities

The OSHA 10-Hour Construction course is designed for construction workers. Workers who should take this course include construction workers, foremen, any personnel that work on construction projects, laborers,  electricians, plumbers, or carpenters.

Workers in the general industry should not take this course. The OSHA 10-Hour General Industry course is designed specifically for workers in the general industry.

This training does not meet California Cal/OSHA requirements.

Learning objectives include:

  • Introduction to OSHA
  • Workers’ rights
  • Employer responsibilities
  • How to file a complaint
  • OSHA inspections
  • Focus Four Hazards (fall hazards, electrocution hazards, caught-in or –between hazards, struck-by hazards)
  • How to identify, select, and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Major construction site health hazards, including acute and chronic hazards
  • Material handling hazards
  • Hand and power tools
  • Identifying positive and negative safety cultures
  • Leading cultural change on the job
  • The roles of the workforce and management in safety culture
